Last couple of days have been sporting two fresh virtual magazines for you to dive into. Rue magazine is out with their Small Space issue, and there are some really cool looking small apartments, I especially liked the Studio of Dru Ortega. Take a look…

And then yesterday… Matchbook magazine launched, I immediately was drawn to the editorial on Tuckernuck… all things preppy!

Truthfully... you can't really go wrong with the tired and true Blue & White color scheme!
These beautiful images are from the new Matchbook Magazine, and they had me at "Jewel Box"... You'll see, turn to page 40.

I guess this is what happens when you go to the flower market, and is unable to make up your mind! - you just get one of each ;)

In the - fairly - new rue magazine, you can find a beautifully photographed country house and a delicious dinner party, perfect for the upcoming holiday season! I especially loved the cell phone tray, great idea!! ... a small platter set out for everyone to park their cell phones on, only to be picked back up upon leaving the dinner party, perfect conversation starter & perfect for dinner conversation :)

New on the Virtual Newsstand...

Don't you just love it when you get a reminder in your inbox, about the release of one of the virtual shelter magazines...? Especially when we all have hundreds of TV options, and nothing to watch.

Well, the new matchbook, October 2013, issue is out, and while I have not read the entire magazine yet, I did read the great editorial on Susan Feldman and Alison Pincus of One Kings Lane. Super interesting!!!

In print and on-line, in every form imaginable... new Quarterly Print issues, new Website with shopping at your finger tips, on Pinterest, on Facebook & Twitter! Plus.... 

Currently an Instagram campaign is in the works, looks fun!

This is truly one of the most exciting news stories this week (Trust me, here in The States it's been slim pickings this week, to say the least!) So, I just wanted to share with all of you, in case you have been living under a rock... LOL! 

Oh, and by the way... Michelle Adams, formerly of Lonny, is the new Editor in Chief!

New on the Virtual Newsstand... Vol. I

Brand new Lonny Magazine just landed on the Virtual Newsstand today... 

Full of pops of color and good ideas, with a modern vibe throughout the magazine.

As a bit of a departure from the rest of what is featured, I found the editorial on page 90 - 119, Hudson By Hand, to be the most interesting. A full on renovation, 8 years in the making of an old farm. A most beautiful job has been done, restoring and bringing back to life a simpler way of living. If you have any interest in seeing the before images, they can be found here.

New on the Virtual Newsstand...

Here you go, a heads up to a brand new rue mag for September 2013! ... and it's a really good one this time :)

Cover girl and Interior Designer Catherine Kwong invites us to view her home.... LOVING the blend of colors and natural elements. Intrigued to find out about the framed Icelandic flag!

Designer Brian Paquette has the style I am most drawn to... however, it's nothing like what my own home looks like, nor any my clients. But then again, I am in the complete opposite direction of the country, and styles are so different from state to state... reminds me very much of a Scandinavian home, and yet this home could be found in the Hamptons as well!

So, go on, explore these new designers for yourself...

New on the Virtual Newsstand...

Pretty, Right?? :)

The new Matchbook Magazine hit the virtual newsstand yesterday. While the super talented Christian Siriano made the cover, this is the Fashion Issue after all, I found the introduction to Genifer Sohr a wonderful read!

Genifer's vintage one-of-a-kind-style, is so fresh and preppy, yet vintage-y all at once. LOVE the color and style she has going on!! Check out the article on page 68.

Now, I am not a big jewelery wearer myself, but I can really appreciate when someone does the accessorizing well, all Genifer's colorful pieces are also on display, for you to view.

On another note...

The art by Alison Cooley caught my eye as well, must be because I am currently in the art-sourcing-stage for two different clients! Of cause the piece featured, is the one I like the best, and it's also already SOLD... :(

New on the Virtual Newsstand...

The brand new September issue of Lonny Magazine is out today, and, finally, it's a good one!

The last two issues have in my opinion not been very newsworthy, hence why I have not linked to them here on the blog. It's not that I didn't read through them, but...

This months best feature and very eclectic home is by non other than Jacqui Getty, and what a home!! Great colors, very homy, filled with charm and bohemian touches, a place I really loved reading about! Go straight to page 106, you won't be disappointed :)

The second best feature "A Place in the Sun" takes you straight back in vacation mode; An amazing home on Majorca, Spain.

Hope your long Labor Day Weekend - if in The States - will allow you a  little quiet time to browse through this new issue! Enjoy!

New on the Virtual Newsstand...

Just in time for a rainy day here in Florida, comes the super pretty Adore HOME August / September issue! 

I was happy to see the Trend Alert page... The Preppy Nautical page was right what I have been thinking, actually, I have just finished a quick office makeover for a client, and this is the exact direction we went in :) The fun knot rope pillow fabric we used in the office. As this particular space also had to double as a guest room, I had custom Euro pillows made of this fabric, as well as a daybed skirt. The space has not been properly photographed just yet, but you can find a sneak peek on the Northern Light Blog's FB page.

(Of cause I just noticed that the only fabric you do not see is the knot fabric.. but you get the idea)

If you are interested... 

I used this lamp as a desk lamp, as the owner has a thing for Chevron. Love how it turned out!! 

OK, so this post was not supposed to be about me or work, but simply a beautifully edited magazine, and clearly I only got you to page 18... :)

I suggest you dive in on your own! Lots of entertaining suggestions, as well as styling ideas, those always have me spying for new combos. The issue is full of fun, festive pops of color and lots of bright and cheerful inspiration. Perfect for a rainy day!!

Wedding News!

Today the very first rue wedding issue hit the virtual newsstand, and while I am not in the market for anything "wedding" at the moment, I still thought it was worth checking out! 

I am happy to report that the issue is not full of wedding gowns, but rather with very tastefully selected accessories for all your registry needs and wants. Party planner advise along with an invitation to view editor-in-chief, Crystal Gentilello, own bridal shower. Super issue!

If you are still looking for more Wedding inspiration, check out Lovely Wedding Magazine, published by Loni Parker of adore Home fame, with quite a few dedicated wedding issues under her belt, there is a lot to read and look at...

Did you catch the new Lonny Magazine yet?

It's hot off the press, went live yesterday, and this morning I spent a little time reading through it...

More than anything I was mesmerized by Le Banane, a nine-bungalow hotel on St. Barth's. You can read all about the hotel here via Lonny Magazine, or go directly to the source.
