New on the Virtual Newsstand...

Just in time for a rainy day here in Florida, comes the super pretty Adore HOME August / September issue!

I was happy to see the Trend Alert page... The Preppy Nautical page was right what I have been thinking, actually, I have just finished a quick office makeover for a client, and this is the exact direction we went in :) The fun knot rope pillow fabric we used in the office. As this particular space also had to double as a guest room, I had custom Euro pillows made of this fabric, as well as a daybed skirt. The space has not been properly photographed just yet, but you can find a sneak peek on the Northern Light Blog's FB page.
(Of cause I just noticed that the only fabric you do not see is the knot fabric.. but you get the idea)

If you are interested...

I used this lamp as a desk lamp, as the owner has a thing for Chevron. Love how it turned out!!

OK, so this post was not supposed to be about me or work, but simply a beautifully edited magazine, and clearly I only got you to page 18... :)

I suggest you dive in on your own! Lots of entertaining suggestions, as well as styling ideas, those always have me spying for new combos. The issue is full of fun, festive pops of color and lots of bright and cheerful inspiration. Perfect for a rainy day!!

Happy Weekend everyone,
Natasha

Wedding News!

Today the very first rue wedding issue hit the virtual newsstand, and while I am not in the market for anything "wedding" at the moment, I still thought it was worth checking out!
I am happy to report that the issue is not full of wedding gowns, but rather with very tastefully selected accessories for all your registry needs and wants. Party planner advise along with an invitation to view editor-in-chief, Crystal Gentilello, own bridal shower. Super issue!

If you are still looking for more Wedding inspiration, check out Lovely Wedding Magazine, published by Loni Parker of adore Home fame, with quite a few dedicated wedding issues under her belt, there is a lot to read and look at...

Enjoy the festivities!

Great issue; lots of inspiration, good shopping tips and many, many ideas!

No Joke!

So.... since it's April 1st, I could come up with some really elaborate story to tell you exactly why I have not been blogging, but in all honesty (for real!) I have been totally uninspired... started a few posts, but realized they were just an "attempt" at posting, so I didn't. I have been really busy with my design clients, and it has taken all my energy and time - that's a good thing! - so my creative juices have been completely monopolized by clients :)

Today I have had a chance to catch up, before I start again tomorrow.... Had a chance to look through the new Adore Home Magazine, and found some interesting interiors - a little over-the-top for my "world" - but fun to read about!

For all you lovers of Black & White Interiors, check out Megan Hess' Melbourne Home...

Here's to hoping for a more consistent blogging schedule in April :)

Thank's for hanging in there with me!!

New on the Virtual Newsstand... Vol. IV

So exciting this is!!!!
I can hardly keep up... now there are two new issues (adore HOME & Lovely Wedding Magazine) to read from the team at adore HOME. The above edition is just the perfect pop of brightness and cheerfulness I was looking for! Colorful Christmas is what they advertise, and that's exactly what you will get, yeah!!

A brand new interview with Anna Spiro, of Black & Spiro and the Absolutely Beautiful Things Blog, inspires a colorful and handmade Christmas enjoyed with friends and family.
These happy images from the store, makes me wish for a pop-up shop in South Florida :)

Anna is a master of color and mixing patterns, and this lamp with its fabric shade is a perfect example!!  I imagine this in an office, how can you not want to be at your desk?

So, I am aware that the focus is on the pompoms... but I think the mirror is super cool too. The pale wood and all the carved details, not to mention the height.

Come pull up a chair to this BRIGHT table... I could make up a whole story about the menu I would serve, the people I would like to entertain here and the dress code... any suggestions?

Jingle Bells are a must at Christmas, and why not white...?

OK, so these above images are from the adore HOME blog, but there are others in the magazine for you to explore.

AND, while you are at it, check out the Style Trail of Brisbane's Eastern Suburbs on page 70, everyone loves a good shopping trip, right? Only this virtual one will not empty your bank account :)

TGIF :)

New on the Virtual Newsstand...

It's here!!! Jam packed with super cool images, stores to visit and places to eat.

THREEFOLD.... This place would quickly become my new hangout! My gosh, did you check out that spread? Apparently you can get your morning java here, eat wonderful food and pastries, and return at the end of the day for a little wine sipping. As it turns out, I don't think you will ever need to leave ;)...

Louise at Table Tonic scored a wonderful writeup for her new brick & motor shop.
Here's to wishing I could visit, but travel to Australia is not in the cards for me just yet.
If you are far away as well, check out her very successful web shop.

Have a fun time exploring this issue, lots of great stuff to dive into!

Adoring this home!

If you didn't get the news yet... a brand new Adore Magazine is out, and BETTER than ever!! Chock full of super beautiful homes, and lots of shopping so you, too, can get in on all the beautiful accessories and artwork. This particular home is my favorite (in this issue of Adore) as it has such happy pops of color, eclectic collection of furniture, all the while keeping it light and beachy.

In my daily work it's not often I comes across a client who is this daring, willing to commit to purple.... But I, for one, totally love how this beach house is white, light and cheerful!! What do you say? Now, I know you will all be falling in love with the Hawaiian Hula Girl vintage poster, so I have sourced it for you (here)... you are welcome ;)  An other home in this issue belong to Mariska Meijers, who I was lucky to meet at an event in Miami a while back. She also has this really great purple chair in her living room.... Do I spy a trend?

Happy June!!

Adore-ing St. Barts

Browsing through the new Adore magazine last night, I was fascinated by this shop St. Barts.
I think I could get lost in there for a while, the store looks like my dream house :)

If you would like to meet the owner and read a little about the store, you can do that here.

... and I just couldn't help myself, had to "throw in" these two little bright guys! Makes you smile, no? I am not entirely sure they would actually make it to my house, but they are cute to look at in the store.

UPDATE 06.04.13 : There is now a new web-shop if you are in the mood for long distance shopping.

New on the virtual newsstand...

I was so tempted to post an image from the fantastic Black & Spiro store (that I have never visited), but figured that I would leave that up to others...
You all know how much fun I think that store is; I even proclaimed once, that I wanted to live there...

That being said, there are so many wonderful "blog homes" to view, and to read about, in the new Adore Home Issue. It just went live yesterday.

I come away with the above image, based on the beautiful saturated colors, the natural elements... Beautiful green glass, pottery in the most fantastic teal, the lemons ad a wonderful pop of color and what I can only imagine to be fresh herbs in the background. Loving the play on matte and shiny, glass and glaze, grey and white! Notice how your eye is drawn back to the amber and red glass ware in the very back...

This is my favorite image of them all!
Happy reading,

Natasha
