You see, Northern Light is celebrating it's 3 year Birthday today, YEAH!!

Adoring this home!

If you didn't get the news yet... a brand new Adore Magazine is out, and BETTER than ever!! Chock full of super beautiful homes, and lots of shopping so you, too, can get in on all the beautiful accessories and artwork. This particular home is my favorite (in this issue of Adore) as it has such happy pops of color, eclectic collection of furniture, all the while keeping it light and beachy.

In my daily work it's not often I comes across a client who is this daring, willing to commit to purple.... But I, for one, totally love how this beach house is white, light and cheerful!! What do you say? Now, I know you will all be falling in love with the Hawaiian Hula Girl vintage poster, so I have sourced it for you (here)... you are welcome ;)  An other home in this issue belong to Mariska Meijers, who I was lucky to meet at an event in Miami a while back. She also has this really great purple chair in her living room.... Do I spy a trend?

It's never too late...

OK, so it's entirely possible that I spent a little too much time on Etsy this past week (!!), but I have found some really pretty things...

I just adore this white & black butterfly poster by Eva Juliet, and I am seriously thinking it would be a great piece to have on the wall in our bedroom. It would be pretty, hung low and just behind my bedside lamp, by my table... What do you think?

The french script reads "It's never too late to be who you want to be!" 

It would be quite nice to wake up to in the morning... :)

Vintage posters.

Sunday morning I visited a friends house, I had not been there in a little while...
I spotted a vintage poster on her wall. No frame, no fuss, just up on the wall!
I was so taken with the simplicity, and so inspired to find "my own" that I went on a little Internet search! Of course there are thousands, it's hard to pick one, and truthfully... I don't really have the wall space... BUT, I did find a few contestants, just in case :)

The vintage Miss Dior is my favorite! LOVE the color, the dress, the flowers... EVERYTHING!
This poster I would make room for!!

Spotted this poster at BASALT Indretning, a vintage furniture store in Copenhagen, owned by Anne Fabricius-Bjerre. She wrote the book (Hjem efter mit hjerte) that I used in my first give-away here. Great pop of color, don't you think??

And then there is this bright blue and yellow one.... How fun!
I see this one in a modern home, perhaps even in a child's room!

Hall of Fame!

I am always on the look out for a wonderful entrance or hall, and here is yet another one that fits my criteria... I found it a little while back at the Made by Girl blog. I don't recall who designed it, or where it was first published, sorry!

Check out that large black and white above the console, wonderful! Lately I have been seeing elephants all over the place, perhaps because of the new Reese Witherspoon film...

just back from vacation, had a wonderful time!!!!

Quiet Monday

Do you ever have days like that?

The weather is beautiful, but you want to stay in bed?

You have a lot of stuff to do, but you want to stay in bed?

Well, today was one of those days for me.....

I didn't exactly stay in bed, I actually accomplished quite a few things today. Getting up super early, I had them all done before 12 noon!!

And now; While my two cats are sleeping on my desk, spending a few moments in Blog land is heaven! I am constantly amazed by all you bloggers out there! I have been to Japan (Room269), to Norway (Synnove Frantzen), a quick stop in Australia (several different blogs), and in Sweden (Paa vor Udde).

I hope you all are having a great start to your week;   mine.... well, it's a quiet Monday.

Somehow I ended up on Etsy....
Rusty Cricket to be exact, and these were just too cute to pass up!



Unfortunately I have no room for them, but I just love the color of the background, and the slightly weathered look.

 

Would be super cute in a beach house, or in a children's room.

 

... and this last one is for N & P; remembering Theodor....

Just thinking out loud; how to frame these? In black frames? In wood frames? In white? Not at all??

I guess, when it really comes down to it, it totally depends on the interior. How would you tackle this project?

Tulle in all sizes

I have a very dear friend, who from time to time invites me to the ballet. I have been fortunate to see the Miami City Ballet dance many times, and I must say I have loved all performances. (All but one actually, where we walked out on the last part....)

I have had this adorable image in my files for a very long time now, and who ever Vivianne is; You get an A for creativity in my book!! This would definitely catch my eye, walking down the street; very classy street poster!!!!

I can only imagine ....

... and so I did!

Well, when you know "You Know" as they say, and
I changed something.
I am starting a new job tomorrow, super exciting!
A little terrifying......

I am sure it will be a huge challenge and I hope I can live up to the expectations, mostly my own. I have just left a job of 15+ years, and so many former coworkers, clients, vendors, friends and family have been wishing me well on this next step in my life.
