(Coral) Christmas

It's a bit of an unusual color for Christmas, but look how great this Coral color looks!
Very warm and inviting…

Coral ribbon makes this little vignette on the dining table a bit more festive! Such a great mix of candles, flowers, cones in different sizes, gold star confetti and a super cool Tom Dixon gold votive holder.

If space is an issue, why not just get a miniature tree? There are so many tiny ornaments out there, it should be a snap to decorate :) 

Inexpensive glass cylinders filled with a few blooms, colorful ornaments and candles makes for an easy display. Tie coral ribbon around the glass vase, and voila, instant color coordination, splash of color and a little feminine touch :)

I know, I know... I just had to start out early this year!

Pretty Table Top Inspiration

I just received my daily Domaine Home Inspirational Newsletter, and while there are days I just don't have the time to click through, today was different...

These pretty images were from Lindsay Lohan & Kathryn Irelands project, featured briefly on The Million Dollar Decorators, where KI was decorating LL's home, but prior to us seeing the reveal, LL ended up in a car accident... and we never got to see the finished project. Well, check out this link, and you can see what was created. I remember from the few episodes, that I really liked LL's home! The light & the vibe, but the interiors were awful ... LOL! 

Meanwhile, these table top images were what stood out to me, love the eclectic feel, the colors and the casual vibe of outdoor entertaining!

Picture Book for Grownups

Do you love Pinterest as much as I do?? It's like an ever evolving mood board, a Picture Book for Grownups :) 

I use Pinterest almost every day; for remembering an idea, to pin an amazing photograph, for color inspiration... anything that inspirers me at any give moment. I have the app on my phone as well, so it makes the pinning even easier! I have boards set up for Projects I am currently working on, or that I have completed.

Just yesterday I did a few image additions to the Northern Light sidebar, check out the Right Side of the Blog, below my Daily Inspiration Tab (Blog roll). Sometimes all you need is a little flower!

... and, well, that day was today :) I bought myself a small colorful bouquet of spray roses. 
I just could not pass up the mix of bright colors; Hot Pink, Yellow, White, Orange and Coral.

Loved it even more when my husband asked who sent flowers... & my answer was "You Did" ;)

Wednesday Inspiration

Crisp, white, bright, lots of natural light, fresh white orchids and a good mixture of interesting accessories...

I am on a mission to "lighten & brighten" my clients homes, and so far I have a few "converts"! Yesterday a client of mine said "I am so happy you came in to our lives. Now I see the light....!"

Prep Alert!

Just received my weekly email from OKL, and found the best Preppy & Playful pillows and throws on sale over there RIGHT NOW!!

The whale pillows would look so great mixed with other patterns on a white sofa, pops of color, prepster all the way...

... and this orange coral beauty remind me of a just finished project of mine in Ft. Lauderdale! Could have used a couple of these, but found others that spoke equally as well to the space and even included the homeowners love for chevron. A sneak peek of that project can be found here. Not able to show any more images as of now, as a magazine has shown interest in the project, so you will just have to stay tuned :)

It's Island Time...

... well, that little title got me exploring! You see, I have covered the home of India Hicks here on the blog, I have even done a little write-up on her property King's Treat , so when an email landed in my inbox today with the above title, well, I just had to take a tour of the website! Here are a few of my picks, clearly you'll spy a theme... LOL!

I am a sucker for well constructed mood boards! 

 

... and while I am not particularly a Skull & Cross Bone kinda girl, I do know of Pirates looming those Bahamian waters a long time ago, so this tee has made the cut for that reason :)

Oui, Oui, Oui!! Would LOVE to get my hands on this Cashmere Hoodie. Spending the day at the beach, the sun can get to you and you actually can get quite cold in the evening, so I say Oui to snuggling up in this one.

I thought the write up for this new Bondi Beach Bag was hysterical, I am sure lot's of you moms out there would agree!?

Full well knowing how HOT it gets in the tropics, this Cotton and Silk Cyprian Dress would be a summer stable... Wear as a bikini cover up, as a dress or even with white jeans. 

Going out on the town?  This is my pick for a chic summer clutch!

Can you imagine... waking up to this every day??? I can't remember seeing a more beautiful Sunrise! Can't get enough Island Time? Lean back and take a moment, this little spot will transport you away... for just a few minutes, where ever you are :)

Sneak Peek...

A quick peek from yesterdays photo shoot.

I have just finished a Charming Cottage in Ft. Lauderdale, Florida. I completely renovated the kitchen, optimizing every inch of space, redesigned the dining room and updated the living room. Yesterday I worked with the super talented Candace of CHB Photography to photograph the finished result. I have not seen all the images we took, and the suspense is actually killing me!!! I received a few teaser images, so I can share just this one with you... YEAH!

E-nuf is e-nuf!!

I have been in a Coral mood as of late! Typically I am a Spaghetti Strap girl, but e-nuf is e-nuf, literally :) I am all over this color... I do not do well with Reds, Orange nail polish is soooo not my thing, love Hot Pinks, and now I have graduated to this Coral!

Work in Progress!

Just wanted to share a little bit of a project that I am knee deep in. My client has a small kitchen in an old house, where every single wall is un-even, and so is the ceiling by the way... We are optimizing the counter space, brightening up the space and adding some super lux elements!

The image above is part of our inspiration board, and we are not deviating far from this! Simple & clean, beautiful & light filled, with a pop of orange! Cheerful, don't you think?? The client already has a couple of bar stools, so they have been sent out to be sprayed Tangy Orange, can't wait to see them!

Unfortunately we do not have soaring ceilings in this home, but in attempt to brighten things up, painting the walls a crisp white, has already done a lot for the space!! The light for the kitchen has been selected, and looks like this Alexa Hampton fixture. We love the Van Cleef Clover reference :)

Currently I am looking for the perfect light fixture above the dining room table, I am really liking this one (above)!! What is your take on the rough wood farmhouse table and this lantern? Keep in mind we have Orange as an accent color...

Tray Chic!

I have featured the work of artist Caitlin McGauley several times here on the blog, and I was so excited when I discovered these super pretty small ceramic trays, adorned with her fun and oh-so-current motifs. I am in an orange mood as of late, so this tray is by far my favorite!!!

For all of you who love Jewelry... this one is for you :)

... and the love for chevron never goes away, does it??

Ok, so this pretty-in-pink tray is a very close second on my list! How cheerful!! I see one of these trays on my nightstand, and being short on little gifts this Christmas season, I might have just found a gift I would love to give AND receive :)

Al Fresco Dining

Rumor has it that we will be dining al fresco this afternoon, sooooo looking forward to joining friends for Thanksgiving!!

I have been asked to bring something sweet, so this morning I made Salted Caramel Brownies, recipe can be found in the new Barefoot Contessa Foolproof cookbook, by Ina Garten.

Shopping: Hudson I Grace, San Fransisco

The newly opened Hudson I Grace on Sacramento Street in San Francisco, is the dream of Monelle Totha and Gary McNatton.  I had the pleasure of meeting Monelle a few years back, when she was VP of Design & Merchandising at Williams-Sonoma Home. I featured Monelle's home here on the blog, check it out.

Creativity at work here... I am struggling with my words... do I call this "good merchandising", "color coordinated" or...? But who knew that a huge pumpkin could be this decorative and actually make you long for an orange cowhide rug at the same time??

The flowers, the flowers... When you do it right, there is nothing more fantastic than a huge amount of the same kind of blooms. These orange tulips would brighten up even the dullest, rainy, grey San Francisco day, don't you agree?? 

Yes, please! I LOVE library tables, I tend to get to this spot, and than I get lost for a little while...

Fall-ing in Love!!

I always appreciate a good little vignette, and when it is geared towards the season, even better. As you can see above, it really doesn't take much. Here it's the burnt orange in the foliage and in the glaze of the Waylande Gregory ceramics that tie the story together, but really, this could just as easily have been done with a coffee table book and a candle :) 

Even just changing the artwork up a little will make the story come together.
